As everyone knows that there are different categories of mp3 players as hard drive based players, micro-hard drive based players and flash drive players. Among these three types, the largest space player is only hard drive based player while micro hard drive based player and flash player carry less space to save your collection. They are different from each other due to many features. As flash player has a built-in flash chip in it which other two players do not have.

Bloglines Continues to Lead Google Reader

Heather Hopkins of Hitwise has a new post for all you Blogliners out there. She’s a VP of Research at Hitwise, a leading web analytics firm. She writes, “It (Bloglines) is the most popular web-based feed reader based on share of US visits.” Or in other words, Bloglines is beating Google Reader in the U.S. In an interview done by RW/W on August of 2007, I said it was a “2 horse race.” It still is.

Heather goes onto write about the differences between the user bases.

  • Bloglines users are also more inclined toward Photography websites, while Google Reader users are more inclined to visit Television websites.
  • …Bloglines users are 24% more likely to continue on to a retail (Shopping & Classifieds) website.

It would be interesting to hear from Blogliners on your blogs to see if you really do track more photography websites. We launched a Flickr feed module in Bloglines Beta for our photography enthusiasts. We hope you liked the feature and also like Bloglines Beta.

Enjoy!

Editing my Flash front page. I know how to edit all files but the Flash front page (.swf) of my web site.Tips?

It was designed by someone else and I now want to add things to it (just text). I tried to download Flash but it did not work. What do I do? How do I proceed? A link to download Flash that would actually download it?
Thanks!

Before you can edit your Flash page, you’ll need to get the original file it was authored with. The type of Flash file you see on the Internet is a .swf file. It’s the compiled version (i.e. ready to be seen on the Internet version) of a .fla file.

You’ll need to contact the original author of the .fla file to do the editing.

If you can’t contact the original creator of the .fla file, you may be able to CREATE a .fla file by using an decompiler program. What that basically does is take the .swf file and attempt to recreate a .fla file. The process is never perfect unfortunately, but sometimes I’ve had to resort to doing it.

Try Gordon for the Mac, or SWF Decompiler for the PC and see what you get. Depending on how the original file was created, your results will vary.

Once you have your .fla, you can change the text all you want. One thing you need to be aware of though, is that you may also be missing the fonts that the original author used in the creation of the .fla.

Also, one last note, to open the .fla file, you will need the Adobe Flash program, not the Flash Player.

How can one prove to a client about web traffic?

This would include both keyword searches & specific pages.

If you are thinking of selling ad space, or selling ad space on your site, there are several ways to show clients your web traffic:

1 - Use a third party service such as Quantcast http://www.quantcast.com which shows not only your traffic numbers but demographic information

2 - Put your traffic numbers in your media kit

We have been selling ad space since 1999, and haven’t experienced a client asking for access to our stats software just to "prove" our web traffic numbers. We usually give the traffic information in our media kit, and if they have clarifications, they come back and request more information from us.

But if you want, I suggest giving Quantcast a try — the catch though is that anyone can see your traffic numbers. The more high end sites use Nielsen Netratings

mom lives with my sister that has desktop dsl connection plus a laptop with included webcam. sis wants to let mom see me via webcam from her laptop. desktop is upstairs mom is downstairs.

Get a d-link n series wireless router.,. any n series routers are good… but the d-link is also easy to install…
and the clarity of the web cam also depends on how much load you system is taking… try avoiding downloads and numerous webpages being opened while in webcam mode….
cheers…
